Amahoro means peace. Throughout Africa this powerful word is spoken when two old friends embrace or when enemies reconcile. Amahoro Africa is a friendship of innovative pastors, theologians, and community leaders seeking out ways to be the church in postcolonial Africa.
In May of 2007, these passionate young leaders, along with 40 friends from the rest of world, met for a week to share life, to talk about the things most pressing as they minister in Africa.
As we met, it became clear that Amahoro could not be a once-off event. These leaders were hungry for connection with their new friends.
So, in April of 2008, we're doing it again! We'll be meeting in Kigali, Rwanda, where our African sisters and brothers, along with friends from Asia, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and North America will come together to explore Reconciliation.
Take a few moments to browse our site, and consider how you might partner with us!
Amahoro!
